Using outdoor space to take pressure off crowded classrooms during the pandemic.
As a volunteer designer in the Emergency Schoolyard Design Volunteer Program, I worked with the sponsoring professor to research and design sustainable outdoor learning spaces for local schools. Reusing unused outdoor space is a low-cost way to reduce the load on indoor classrooms while giving students fresh air, hands-on learning and the health benefits of more contact with nature.
